The “rabbinically-approved” clothing site Tznius (Hebrew for “modest”) has a section with scarf-tying instructions. It was a surprising similarity.
(Yes, it’s an Israeli company. But even with those whose policies we do not agree, there are issues upon which we do.)

=) i swear, i smiled so widely when i clicked over to that site. i guess it was just seeing jewish women wearing headscarves in so many different styles, and knowing that they have a webpage dedicated to that – just as muslim women have SO MANY similar websites – made me happy.
PS: in all my years of wearing the hijab in various headwrap and non-headwrap fashions, it was the dutch crown style that ultimately led to the way i wear it today. so funny, i didn’t know there was a name for it! i like the jerusalem twist, too – shall have to try that!
thank you for the link, buddy.

I didn’t know Tznius was an Israeli company! I had been meaning to purchase a few things from them. :0( Oh well, “what was meant for you will not pass you and what has passed you was not meant for you.” Nice video though.

Those are some cute styles. I could wear some of them over a two-piece Amira hijab.

Truly beautiful! I really don’t know how they manage to tie them in any of those ways and keep them from coming undone! Plus am always frantic about wayward hairstrands. I’m a boring triangular scarf with the safety pin tie sort of girl. (Must reflect my age or something – pretty on the young ones but so impractical for this old fuddy duddy.)

Salaams Dear:
I recognize a lot of these styles from when I was Jewish. I believe this is why it wasn’t difficult for me to make the switch once I became a Muslim
Now that I am an elderly Muslim lady, I may go back to some of these styles.
Jazaka Allahu Khayr for sharing this and Insha Allah you are feeling well.

the only way to tie a scarf is when the tie-r looks good!
